Feldenkrais Classes Term 1 2019
Sara’s weekly Feldenkrais aTM (Awareness Through Movement) classes are on-going.
The themes (see below for term 1) of Sara’s classes are a response to the interests, injuries, hobbies, exercise activities and questions of those in the class. Classes are open to new participants each term. (It is best to join in the first three weeks of the term when you can).
Tuesdays 7.30pm and Thursdays 11am.
10 weeks, starts Tuesdays, 12 Feb ends 16 Apr and Thursdays, 14 Feb ends 18 Apr
In term 1, we will be playing with three themes which will alternate each week:
a new series of classes based on improving your walking technique
working with are the movement sequences from the Wake Up! Learn a Feldenkrais Routine (no prior experience necessary).
The Amhearst training was the last training course that Moshe Feldenkrais gave before his death and one ‘thread’ of it was exploring developmental movements and how essential they are for organizing your ‘core’ from the very beginning.
Throughout the year Sara also runs workshops usually on Saturday afternoons. Frequent themes are: Pelvic Floor Basics and Walk Your Own Walk Better (Each workshop is taught with a different perspective/orientation each time so returning students as well as new students are welcome). Dates TBA.
Term 1 Feldenkrais aTM (Awareness Through Movement) classses with Jenny D’Cruz.
Mondays 9.15am - 10.15am, 10 weeks, starts 4 Feb ends 8 Apr and 10 weeks Thursdays, 6pm - 7pm 7 Feb ends 11 Apr.
This term we are going to explore easier ways to squat, reach, turn and ambulate (at any level from a meander to a run, a slope to a mountain). If you’re wondering how this might apply to you think picnics, outdoor concerts, camping holidays or ‘ready about…. Lee ho!’, playing with children, climbing in and out of small cars, or even up in to 4WDs. When the ground is your friend, and you have many ways to get close to it and across it comfortably, the world may become your oyster again!
Jenny D’Cruz is a Feldenkrais Practitioner and Physiotherapist.
