Pelvic Floor Basics: Improving Function and Awareness of the Pelvic Floor using the Feldenkrais Method
These 4 classes are designed to give you both information and practical experience of the basic tenets of the Feldenkrais Method and how they can be specifically used for improving your pelvic floor function.
- Experience movement lessons related to pelvic floor function (for example when laughing, sneezing, coughing, lifting, exercising, walking, running and taking the stairs)
- Explore the relationship between how we use our attention, our ability to make distinctions and how much of ourselves we include in the image of a movement influences our ability to learn.
- Come along and expand your ideas/options for improving your pelvic floor function.
Sara Elderfield, Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and Yoga Teacher
Passionate about teaching movement so that it is useful in daily life not just in a class, Sara is a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner who has been teaching yoga and movement meditation since 1996 and the Feldenkrais Method since 2007. She teaches weekly group classes (Awareness Through Movement) as well as seeing clients for individual lessons (Functional Integration). She was the administrative director of the most recent Perth Feldenkrais practitioner training programme (2014-2017) and since 2006, she has run the Centre for Movement Studies studio which is based in Shenton Park and regularly hosts/organises workshops and classes taught by other local and international teachers of yoga, Feldenkrais Method and meditation. In addition to her weekly classes, Sara takes groups overseas most years (Bali, Nepal, Vietnam, Tibet or France) on walking, Feldenkrais, yoga and meditation retreats.

Centre for Movement Studies and Yoga Moves Studio, 45 Evans Street, Shenton Park. The studio is a separate hall attached to the West Subiaco Masonic Hall (‘Google’ 78 Herbert Road for directions) and our entrance is on Evans Street opposite Lake Jualbup.
What to bring
You will need to wear clothing that you can move and breathe in (no tight waistbands, jeans or belts etc). All equipment is supplied but please bring your own if you prefer to use your own equipment.
4 class card $100/$88 concession*. Payment before the first class is required. The terms and conditions of class cards are on the registration form and on the website and should be read before purchase as there are no credits for missed classes. Missed classes may be made up in Sara’s other Feldenkrais classes before Thursday 29th November 2018. Casual classes $25/$22 concession* are possible for students who have some experience in the Feldenkrais Method but only in consultation with Sara before attending class.
