The Shoulder Series
With Sally Robertson
Most of us have no ‘technique’ for using our shoulders and arms in daily life. Instead, we live with what seems ‘good enough’ – good enough to carry groceries, good enough to play some tennis, good enough to do a few push ups at the gym. But over time, ‘good enough’ isn’t adequate. We end up living with chronic pain, loss of flexibility, discomfort in bed and a dwindling repertoire of activities we can enjoy unfettered.
The Shoulder Series will teach you, step by step, the Feldenkrais principles that ensure your arms and shoulders will not only function at their best, but actually improve with use. By working safely and intelligently with these principles, through guided Awareness Through Movement (ATM) classes, you will discover a superior way of coordinating your shoulders, neck, spine, and hips for every kind of activity, whether this is the simple act of carrying bags, walking, running, or a workout at the gym.
Benefits:
§ Freeing your neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands from unnecessary pain and stiffness.
§ Understanding how to access power in the back, shoulders, arms, and hands and how the shoulders and arms integrate into the movement of the whole body.
§ Studying the 5 key skeletal relationships that connect the arm to the torso.
§ Integrating your shoulders in better breathing and vice versa.
§ Building a daily personal practice that will serve you in the activities and goals you pursue.
